HOW I HELPED A CYCLIST RAISE FUNDS FOR CHARITIES. - In Good Hands

I wanted to write this blog to give A BIG shout-out to my client of 20 years – Rob Berry, who has just completed 2 gruelling cycle challenges for various charities and recorded some songs to help raise funds.

I have had a part to play and helped him to the finish line by doing weekly massages for him and helping with his recovery.

The first event was ‘Ride for Precious Lives’ – for the Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) – Bristol to Cornwall in 3 days.

The second event (the following weekend) – Wales in a day, in the blistering heat, a lot of very steep climbs – Caernarfon to Chepstow, 185 miles in 1 day for various charities.

I have fond memories of another charity cycling event – London to Paris, in 3 days.  I accompanied the riders as part of the support team, following them and supplying them with refreshments.

My role, however, was to do massage for them when required.  Often I would do roadside repairs, on the person that is, not the bike!  We all made it to Paris and had a fun night.  Again Rob organised everything and raised a lot of money for charity.

Over the years, I have helped Rob and many other cyclists, runners with aches and pains, keeping them going. Also after the event, it is good to have a massage to flush out all the toxins and lactic acid.

Just a few weeks ago, I had a cyclist contact me who was in urgent need of me.  He was on his way through cycling from John O’ Groats to Lands End.  He left me a nice review:

‘Emergency massage therapist required on a LEJOG ride. Helen delayed her Friday night dinner to work on my IT Band which was in bits. Very friendly and professional. Fantastic!’

Not only is Rob a brilliant cyclist and dedicated to helping charities, but he is also a fantastic singer. You can hear his 3 amazing songs by clicking on the above link.

Below I have added a few links to some beautiful songs recorded by Rob Berry in aid of raising funds for charity.

Your support will be much appreciated. Good job Rob!
