What is Hypnotherapy
It is a kind of psychotherapy treatment helping you to take back control of your life.
Hypnotherapy is a focused consciousness treatment for promoting healing or positive changes. It helps you to make long lasting changes to feel empowered so you can take back control of your own life. This is achieved by extreme relaxation through guided relaxation instructions and subtle embedded suggestions.
You are always in control, it is not a deep sleep, but you are in an enhanced state of awareness.
It aims to re-program patterns of behaviour within the mind, overcoming irrational fears, habits, negative thoughts and suppressed emotions.
How does it work
The sub-conscious mind is the ‘feeling’ mind and along with feelings, habits, beliefs and emotions are also stored there.
Alpha brain waves is the state of heightened creativity and inspiration, where you would go into a light hypnotic trance and feel extremely relaxed.
The subconscious mind does what it is told and shown, it comes to the forefront, whereby the conscious mind is then less dominant.
Progress can only be made by reprogramming the subconscious so that deep-seated instincts and beliefs are abolished or altered. The subconscious mind is the most powerful part of our mind. This is the part of our mind that is in control and will help you to achieve your goals. (We work with during Hypnotherapy).
E.G a person who has a phobia of spiders – can try everything on a conscious level, but will still fail as long as their subconscious mind retains this terror and prevents the patient from succeeding.
WHAT HAPPENS IN A SESSION
During sessions I combine clinical Hypnotherapy with Solution-Focused hypnotherapy which is a kind of talking psychotherapy. I will use CBT Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques and NLP to give you an overall more empowering and effective treatment that will help you to focus on solutions to the problem.
I often will use other wellness treatments or solutions such as stress management or mindfulness techniques.
